GM team in the parade After the floods at Gateshead last year, we had the Brummy Heatwave this year.
With so many Trafford athletes competing, it seemed like almost every other event had a Trafford interest.
As a club we came away with two medalists. We also had quite a few make it through heats\ qualification to make finals and several PB's. Congratulations in particular to Jerell and Zac for picking up their medals - and a big 'well done' to all for firstly qualifying and secondly their efforts at the finals.

Richard's heat was at the hottest part of the day of Friday, competed well to finish 7th in a time just outside his PB. Richard missed the final by 0.15 sec. This was his final English Schools appearance, 4 years after his last one.
IB 800m Chris Brown
Chris's heat was early on the Friday morning, finished 6th, like Richard less than a second outside his PB
IB 3000m Zak Miller, Danny Lawton
Last time they both ran a 3k was at the Mason Trophy where they had torrential rain that temporarily brought the rest of the program to a halt, this time they had 28 degree heat to deal with. Zak finished 3rd with a 3 sec PB, Danny finished 8th with a 4 sec PB. A tremendous effort from both lads.
IB LJ Jerrell Marchan
A season's best jump left Jerell in 3rd place. He also showed great sportsmanship by not allowing himself to benefit from a judges mistake.

Not a good day at the office for Jake'. After ranking in UK top 10 all season he failed to deliver on the day. His day will come again we're sure.

Rivi finished 4th in his heat, Will got a new PB in his, with the second fastest time. Unfortunately he hit one of the hurdles fairly badly in the final and came in 7th. That's hurdling, but a tremendous achievement nonetheless. Rivi went on to run the first leg in the 4x100m relay in both the heat & final.

After the first 3 jumps Josh was in the top 6 which meant he made the cut and got 3 further jumps. his longest jump on the day of 6m left him in 5th place. Josh also ran the second leg in the 4x100m relay final.
JB TJ Delroy Wright
Delroy has come a long way in a relatively short period of time, by far the least experienced athlete from those representing GM from Trafford. Finished 11th.
