English Schools success for Trafford athletes
The 86th English Schools Track and Field Championships were held at Gateshead on 8th & 9th July. This is the 4th largest athletics event in the world and the Greater Manchester team had 7 Trafford coached athletes.
The most successful of the Trafford contingent was William Aldred who won the Senior Boys 110m Hurdles, Joining him in the final was Rivaldo Brown who finished an agonising 4th buy 1 one hundredth of a second.
Chayce Smith also picked up a bronze, in the Inter girls 4x100m relay.
Other Trafford representatives where Jamall Walters who narrowly missed out on the Junior Boys 200m final in his first English schools competition, he'll be back next year in the same age group.
Dominic Blake finished 7th in the Inter Boys triple Jump,
Colin Daly came through his heat to make the final of the Inter Boys 1500m and Mikey Kingston also in the Inter Boys 1500m.
