Soon after the track season ends, the Road Relay season begins.
The opening event was the Greater Manchester Championships which were held in conjunction with the North West Championships on a tough but picturesque course in Delamere Forest.
The Under 13 Boys team finished in 4th place, with the team of Tom Bentall, Oliver Choi and the return from long term injury of Louie McCormack.
In the Under 15 event, Trafford managed to field 2 teams. The A team of Cynog Williams , Joe Bentall and Matt Torkington won bronze medals with the B team of Alex Bailey, Theo Symons Treacher and Seb Patrick close behind in 4th.
However, pride of place went to the U17 team of Xav O'Hare, Connor Fazakerley and Jack Wilkinson who ran superbly to win the County Championship in their age group.
On the girls' side, the only complete team was the U11 team of Chloe Bentall, Olivia Holbrook and Freya Griffiths who ran excellently to finish a promising 4th.
In the Under 13 Girls race, Lauren Howley ran well, but unfortunately was part of an incomplete team.
The next event on the calendar will be the Northern Road Relays at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday 25th September.
