Five Trafford athletes travelled to Newcastle at the weekend to take part in the prestigious Junior Great North Run, which was held in conjunction with the Great City Games.
Over 1000 young athletes aged under 17 took part in the 4km race.
Zak Miller and Danny Lawton broke away from the field early on in the race and were never challenged. Zak, the current English Schools cross country champion, raced to a 26 second victory, followed home by Danny.
Chris Brown and Ryan Babcock ran well to finish 8th and 13th respectively, both having another year in this age group.
Beth Donnelly showed a welcome return to form when finishing 6th in the Girls race.U17 Men
