Ten Trafford AC athletes were part of the 38 strong Greater Manchester Team for the Sportshall North West Regional Finals at Sportcity on Sunday 8th March.
It proved to be a very successful day for the Greater Manchester Teams, with u13 girls, u13 boys and u15 girls all winning and the u15 boys coming second.
Elaine Crosdale, long standing organiser of the Greater Manchester Sporthall Competition, described the results as "the best result we have had for a long time"
As ever in this sort of competition, it's a team effort that gives the success and the Trafford AC athletes all paid their part.
In the u13 girls we were represented by Tasmin and Isobel. Tasmin was 2nd in the Standing Long Jump with a massive 2.32 and second in the 6 Lap. Isabel was 5th in the 6 Lap and combined with Tasmin for 3rd in the Parlouf.
In the u13 boys we were represented by Jarrell and Cian. Cian won the Vertical Jump, 6th in 2 Lap and was in the 2 x 4 Lap that finished 2nd. Jarrell was 5th in the Standing Long Jump and in the 1 x 4 Lap Relay that finished 2nd.
In the u15 girls we were represented by Georgia, Imojene, and Lili. Georgia was 1st in Speed-bounce, 2nd in Vertical Jump and 3rd in 2 Lap. Imojene was 3rd in 4 Lap, 4th in Vertical Jump and 6th in Shot. Lili was 2nd in Standing Long Jump, 10th in 4 Lap and 12th in Speed-bounce.
Georgia and Lili were also in the victorious 2 x 4 Lap relay team. The u15's is two competitions in 1, as well as the team competition, there is an individual All Rounder Competition in which Georgia finished 3rd, Imojene 4th and Lili 15th. GM athletes were in 5 of the top 6 positions in the individual competition.
In the u15 boys we were represented by Elliot, George and Joe. Elliot was 1st in the 4 Lap, 6th in Standing Triple Jump and 13th in Shot. George was 3rd in Speed-bounce, 7th in Standing Triple and 10th in 4 Lap. Joe was in the winning Parlouf team with Elliot. In the All Rounder Competition Elliot finished 11th and George 12th
So the u13 girls and u13 boys go forward to the National Final at Sportcity on April 25th, the u15 girls on April 26th.
