The u15 & u17 National Athletics Championships were held over the weekend of 31st August & 1st September at Bedford.
There are qualifying standards for the National Championships, and for some events these are at a higher standard than English Schools. There were five Trafford AC athletes on show, the most successful being Zac Miller (u17b).
Zac finished with a bronze in the 3000m to add to his English Schools bronze also at 3000m.

Tameika (u17g) qualified well from her 300m hurdles heat well in second place. In the final she went out hard and was in the mix coming off the bend into the home straight to finish just out of the medals in 4th place.
It was a less successful time for Chris, Will and Josh, but there time will come we're sure. Chris (u17b 800m) and Will (u15b 80m hurdles) both failed to qualify from their heats. Josh (u15b Long Jump) didn't jump as well as he had being doing earlier in the season and finished in 9th place.
