The final match in this seasons Youth Development League saw us make the short trip to Stockport. We'd gone into this match with high hopes of a strong finish and the possibility of finishing second in the league for the season. However, we ended up missing quite a few of our u15's in particular, which scuppered that plan.
Those that were able to make it, did themselves and the club proud and many were only to willing to chip in at unfamiliar events in order to help the overall team result.
Again this league proved how competitive it is, with only a handful of points between the teams finishing in second and sixth. We finished fifth on the day, meaning a third place finish overall by the narrowest of margins.
As ever we must thank those who help officiate. In the field we have Chris, Mike, Joe, Dave, Rob, Juliette and Altheia; with Elaine as track judge and Dave as timekeeper. I'm sure you'll join me in wishing Dave well following his recent operation and his 31st chemotherapy treatment this week.
Once again, picking out highlights is hard given so many fine performances, top 3 places are mentioned below; but again I'll remind you that each and every individual's performance is important to the success of the team. This is your team and you all play your part.

Trezeguet 1st 75m (A) and 150m (B); Ellina 1st 150m (B) 1st LJ (A); Grace 1st 75m (B), 3rd LJ (B); Anna 1st 800m (B); Emily R 1st 1200m (A); Amelia 1st 1200m (B); Emily P 3rd Javelin (A), 2nd Shot (B); Neve 2nd Javelin (B). Relay team of Grace, Halle, Ellina & Trezeguet with a win.
Despite many missing athletes, the number of Graded performances was the same as Match 3 (35). We also showed an increase in the precious Grade 1 Performances
