This was because the original venue that the host club, Lancaster and Morecambe AC, had booked became unavailable; fortunately we were able to accommodate them.
On a glorious sunny day, the match itself took a similar pattern to the first, with no one team particularly dominant. This time Wigan came out overall winners and Trafford AC once again finished fourth.
Despite having a team that was depleted due to injuries and holidays; this second match always seems to coincide with half term; there were some outstanding performances on the day by the Trafford youngsters.
The results show over 20 new PB's were obtained on the day, with Cian continuing to make great progress and PB-ing in his three events.
There were some very dominant wins in the middle distance races with Mikey, Ben (on debut) and Rebecca winning their races by quite a margin. Jack and Raffi also took big chunks of their PB's in the 1500m.
In the sprints Jamall and Cian won their races in both the u13b 100m and 200m; Elliot, returning to the team after a two year absence won his 200m; Molly and Holly won their races in the u15g 200m & 300m respectively.
The only win in the jumps was Cian's u13b High Jump win.
The throws gave no wins, but it was great to see a few new faces, Nina and Sophie, competing for the u15g in the Hammer, Discus & Javelin.
The relays gave a win in the 4x100m for the u15 girls team of Jameelah, Imojene, Molly and Lili; and the u13b team of Sean, Cian, Ayoola and Jamall missed out by the narrowest of margins - another 5m & Jamall would have had him!
Of course, it's not just the wins that are significant, but every point that you each win - well done to all who competed
As ever we extend our gratitude to those who help officiate and ensure that we are able to compete - Peter (Timekeeper), Sue (Track Judge), Brendan, Margaret, Lucy and Ewan (Field Team)
